Evening playlist

I made an evening playlist. I thought I’d share it since you complain I never put anything on the site.

1. Street Spirit (Fade Out) – Radiohead (generic Radiohead song, I know, but…hey, it’s really good, okay?)

2. Blackout – Muse (you probably don’t know this song but it is cool)

3. Bookends – Simon and Garfunkel (such a fantastically overlooked song.)

4. Passenger Seat – Death Cab for Cutie (in hopes that…well, never mind, I’ll tell you later.)

5. A Movie Script Ending – Death Cab for Cutie (favorite song on The Photo Album hands down)

6. Pity and Fear – Death Cab for Cutie (do you need to question my devotion to Ben Gibbard?)

7. The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades… – Sufjan Stevens (um…obvious reasons. This song is the shit)

8. Hjartao hamast – Sigur Ros (the first Sigur Ros song I liked! And super nighttime-y)

9. Faded from the Winter – Iron and Wine (I don’t know, this song is good?)

10. Empire State – Guster (I put this one on thinking of you and your love affair with it…)

11. Satellite – Guster (I also put this one on for you)

12. Grow Old With Me – the Postal Service (I put this one on for someone who is not you)

13. Lullabye – Ben Folds Five (this one is for James Earl Jones/Mufasa/Darth Vadar)

14. Daises of the Galaxy – Eels (for old times’ sake!)

15. Set Fire to the Third Bar – Snow Patrol & Martha Wainwright (this one is also kind of for you…and also because I love it)

16. Hallelujah – Rufus Wainwright (because no playlist is complete without it!)

17. Samson – Regina Spektor (more biblical references!)

18. New Slang – The Shins (their one song I know!)

19. The Sound of Silence – Simon and Garfunkel

20. Norwegian Wood – The Beatles (I don’t tend to think of them as very nighttime-y, but this song is)

21. The Greatest – Cat Power (random-ass song I found on my ipod! Hurray!)

22. It Just Is – Rilo Kiley (because everybody dies…like Elliot Smith)

23. Late – Ben Folds (Elliot Smith again)

24. Walk With You – Dispatch (!!!unnecessarily long flute intro!!!)

25. hoppipolla – Sigur Ros (because they played it at that nightclub that one time?)

26. I Want It That Way – Ben Gibbard (there are no words for this except maybe: Pure Genius)
